Objectives

  • The prime object of the centre is Research Work on Ramayana and comparative studies of Ramayana the appeal of which has transcended the geographical and cultural boundaries of India.
  • To do some project work on Ramayana in Assam since immemorial there are temples and memorials of Rama Ravana and other characters of the great Epic. The centre is also trying to identify the places which were named after characters of the Ramayana . In this content the centre will publish a book highlighting all such places memorials and temples.
  • To organize one annual memorial lecture.
  • Publishing important books preferably to stimulate interest and Research on the Ramayana that had existed in Assam from the 7th century.
  • Translating books on Ramayana and Dr. Indira Goswami from regional language into English and other language to facilitated reading access to valuable materials for the student and researches.
  • The centre is planning to translate into English a few valuable books like Saint Sankardevas Ankia Naat, Ram Vijay Naat by Raghunath Mahanta and Prof. Satyendranath Sarmas Ramayana Itibritta.
  • One of the objective of the centre is also to publish books on different different version of the Ramayana esisting in version-tribal languages of the North East , so that people all over the world get a glimpse of the vibrant and rich Ramayana tradition prevailing in Assam.
  • To create awareness on the Epic Ramayana and to include the teaching of the Ramayana and to educate the youngster about its use in day to day life by organizing, seminars, workshop and discourse on the Ramayana and their reliable perception in different Geo- cultural region of South East Asia and beyond.
  • To organize version cultural and academic programs and competition among children and students on easy writing story telling , drama and fine arts etc associate with the Ramayana.
  • Publishing, an annual research Journal Named- Ramanjali.
